Blossom Windspan was a sweet little Fairy of only 150 Years. For us humans that might be old, but for a Fairy that is barely past childhood. She was a very hardworking Fairy; always watching over her assigned flowers, talking with the Bumble Bee’s to make sure her flowers got the necessary attention so they could spread and grow. She made sure to speak with the little caterpillars so they wouldn’t eat too much of the flowers leaves. She counted her flowers daily to make sure none were broken, stolen or trampled on. Each day she set and counted the red Roses: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Each morning she counted her Carnations: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Each evening she counted the Daisies in her field: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. Blossom Windspan loved all her flowers and she especially loved the beautiful colors of her flowers. Looking at all the beautiful Colors made Blossom very, very happy. She had 4 cherry red Roses, 4 cardinal red Roses and 2 bold fire engine red Roses. She had 2 soft pink Carnations, 6 red Carnations, 4 yellow Carnations and 3 white carnations. Her Daisies all where a lovely creamy white with yellow centers. They were beautiful. One morning Blossom went to count her …… (What does she count in the morning?). Very good, you paid wonderful attention. Her Carnations but to her big surprise they had all lost their colors. Now they were just a boring gray. Blossom was not very happy; she cried big fat fairy tears. Of course, there is nothing sadder then a sweet little Fairy crying. A Badger came up and looked at Blossom. “What is wrong Blossom? Why are you crying?”
Blossom pointed to her flowers. The Badger looked and new just what to do. He gathered a bunch of his friends and went Berry collecting. When he came back he had blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. He walked over to 3 of the carnations and squeezed the juice of the blackberries all over them. The almost instantly turned a dark purplish color. Blossom looked at this and started clapping her hands. Then Badgers Friend took a large paw full of blueberries and squeezed the berries over 7 of the carnations. Almost instantly they turned a bright blue. Blossom started laughing; she never had blue Carnations before. The last Badger friend took the raspberries and squeezed them over the last ________ (how many Carnations are left?) Very good, you did a great job. If you said 5 you are correct. Now the last 5 Carnations were a lovely red. Blossom was very, very happy. I guess you could say that the Badgers had colored her happy.
Would you like to try to color Blossom happy? I thought you would. Why don’t you take the 20 Daisies and imagine that all suddenly went gray. Can you draw 20 Daisies for me on a plain piece of paper? (Mom, please help your kid draw a couple of Daisies so they know how to draw them) Now you need to pick 5 colors you really like. Use those 5 colors to color Blossoms Daisies in. You can do as many per color as you like, but you need to use each color and you have to have all 20 colored in nicely. Why don’t you do it and then ask leave me a message here or ask your Mommy to do it for you, letting me know how many daisies you used per color.

A B C magic
Amanda was a pretty little girl with red curls and blue eyes. She loved to laugh and play games. She loved to hear her Mommy tell stories at bedtime. Her favorite Stories were about Witches, Dragons, Fairies and Teddy Bears. She loved to cuddle with her Teddy Bear named George. George was as old as Amanda and she was already 5 Years old. Big girl Amanda.
What Amanda didn't like to do was sit still and learn. She would have to go to Kindergarten soon and she was not happy about that. She did not want to learn her ABC. She did not want to learn her 1,2,3. She had no interest in learning how to read or write. She just wanted to play games and listen to her Mommies Stories.
Now her Mommy was a very smart lady and she knew that Amanda had to learn her ABC's and 123's. Everyday she tried to teach her, but Amanda would just sit there and tell her. "I can't do this, it is just too hard."
Amanda's Mommy tried everything she could think of, but Amanda simply did not want to learn. Amanda stomped her feet. She wrung her hands. She screwed up her face until it wasn't pretty at all anymore. Amanda's Mom became very, very sad. She loved her little girl Amanda and only wanted what was best for her.
One day Amanda's Mommy went shopping all alone. She needed a little time to think on what to do with her precious little girl. Suddenly she saw a small bookstore she had never noticed before. The sign on the Store read: "Auntie Witch's curious Crafts and Tales".
Mmmm, she wondered and decided to stop on in. When she opened the door a little windchime rang out and a smell of old books and fresh baked cookies greeted her.
Mmmm, she thought again. What a strange place. The place was very messy. There were books all over the place. There were toys all over the place. It almost looked like a childs playroom.
"Hello, anybody here?" Amanda's Mom called out. Suddenly, she heard a little strange voice coming from right by her feet. Looking down she saw nothing but an ABC Block. You know one of those little building blocks you can buy at a Store or some clever person might have carved.
Shaking her head she looked away and called out again:"Hello, is anyone here?"
"I am right here!" came the small almost squeaky voice again right by her foot. When she looked down the same ABC Block was sitting there only this time the green side was up instead of the blue. Amanda's Mom looked at the block and tried to decide if she had kicked it by accident when a woman in a brightly colored dress came out of the backroom.
"Oh hello Amanda's Mom!" she colorfully dressed lady called out cheerfully. Amanda's Mom just stared at the woman in front of her. "Who are you and how did you know who I am?" she questioned.
"I am Auntie Witch of course," she simply answered like that would explain everything.
Holding out a big plate of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies towards Amanda's Mommy.
"Why don't you come back here into the Story Corner?" Auntie Witch offered gently. Amanda's Mom was a bit shocked and maybe even a little scared. Auntie Witch was not trying to scare her, she often forgot that others couldn't understand how she knew certain things. "Could you pick the Block by your foot up and bring him along please?
Slowly Amanda's Mom picked up the little ABC Block and followed Auntie Witch to a cozy little reading corner. Big fluffy colorful pillows where all around a low square table. On it she set the plate of cookies right next to the couple of glasses of milk.
"Won't you please sit down?" Auntie Witch asked gently. Amanda's Mom sat.
Over the next few moments nobody spoke. Auntie Witch looked at Amanda's Mom. Amanda's Mom just stared at Auntie Witch.
Just when the silence was getting too much, a little squeaky voice spoke up. "So Amanda doesn't want to learn her ABC's and 123's? I bet I can get her to learn." This time there was not mistaken the voice. It was the little ABC Block and Amanda's MOM screamed and threw the Block on the Table.
"Ouch" it cried. "Why did you do that? I was just going to help?"
Amanda's Mom stared in disbelieve. "You are a block! You can't talk!" She stated firmly.
Auntie Witch just sat, watched and smiled, then finally she took Amanda's Moms hand and gently petted it. She pulled her down on one of the colorful Pillows and very carefully started to explain to her about the ABC magic and how the it came that the Block spoke.
Later that same evening Mom sat next to Amanda on her little Bed. In her hand was a colorful ABC Block. Mommy told Amanda about the strange Auntie Witch, the curious store and the colorful Block.
"Amanda this Block is very special. It will bring or show you anything you say as long as you do it in the alphabetical order. It will show you entire Stories!"
Amanda only looked at her Mom with big wide blue eyes.
O.K. said Amanda's Mom, if you don't believe me why don't you try it out?
Remember I told you that Amanda loved to play games and hear Stories? Well here was a toy from a real Witch Store and Amanda was not going to let the chance pass by.
Slowly she started to work her way through the ABC.
A is for Apple - A big beautiful red juicy Apple appeared right there in front of her. It looked so real and delicious that she reached out for it, just to have it dissappear right before her eye as she tried to touch it.
B is for Ball or Bear - A small brown Bear appeared and was playing with a blue ball. The little bear cub seemed to have so much fun with the ball that Amanda couldn't help but laugh out loud in joy.
C is for Cat - A sweet tabby cat appeared right there in front of her, purring loudly and licking her paws.
Amanda hurried along.
D is for Dog - a big white dog appeared and started chasing the Cat past the ball playing Bear.
E is for Eagle - A majestic Eagle flew over them all and seemed to glide through the sky.
F is for Fire - A fireplace with a merrily crackling fire seemed to come out of nowhere.
G is for Granny Jean she added....and suddenly the smell of hot cocoa and marshmallows wafted through the room.
Amanda's tummy started to rumple suddenly and her Mom started laughing. "Would you like some hot cocoa honey?" But Amanda was already hurrying along.
H is for honey. Suddenly the Bear who was playing ball stopped and was pulling out a big pot of honey out of his pocket and started dipping his paw deep inside, just to pull it out and lick them clean.
I is for Ice-cream. A big bowl of Ice-cream with chocolate sprinkles appeared in front of Amanda. This time when she reached out it did not dissappear.
J is for Juggler. The Bear seemed to have enough honey and now he pulled 3 small pink balls out of a big blue bag and started juggling them in the air.
Amanda ate her ice-cream and watched the bear for a few minutes before she hurried on.
K is for Kite - A big colorful Kite seemed to drift in the skies.
L is for Lollipop .. and just as soon as she finished speaking the words a big lollipop in many colors appeared.
M is for Mom and of course her Mom was leaning over and gave her a big hug.
N is for never... and she heard her voice from only a couple of days ago... "I am never going to learn this."
O is for oranges...her favorite fruit...
Oh no, suddenly she couldn't think of anything else. She tried so very hard, she knew the other letters but could not think of anything she wanted to see or have. Frantically she started to look around. She did not want this magic block to stop working. Finally she continued real quick.
P is for Pizza with a lot of cheese.
Q is for Quizz that I love to play
R is for Rhino I saw at the Zoo...suddenly she saw a big Rhino poking its head through the door.
S is for swimming ... just in time. The Rhino lumbered off into an imaginary swimming hole and started to swim around.
T is for Tea Party.... She watched as all her favorite Dolls and Teddys had a lovely Tea Party.
U is for Umbrella... her Dolly Daisy showed the others a lovely purple and pink Umbrella. Everyone applauded.
V is for Violin... she loved listening to her cousin play the violin and a soft song started to play.
X is for Xylophone... it chimed in.
Y is for YOu and at that point ... a photo of you appeared in the room, with you sitting there at your little table, bed or chair. Listening to this little story.
Z is for....Zoo and that is just what Amanda's room would be if the magic wouldn't have suddenly stopped and everything dissappeared.
I guess you can imagine Amanda loved practicing her ABC now. Who wouldn't if you can have so much fun with it.
Back at the Book Store, Auntie Witch sat in her Story Corner and smiled. Her ABC Block always did the trick. I wonder she pondered to herself.
